Many people in the world are familiar with the Goodyear brand. If you showed people the Winged Foot logo, most would instantly be able to recognize that it is the Goodyear logo. People know them for their automotive tires and massive blimp, but very few know that they originally started out making bicycle tires. Their name first appeared on a bike tire in 1898 and ever since then, they have been synonymous with victory. 120 years after their original offering, they are introducing a new life of performance bicycle tires. They are developed with Rubber Kinetics and utilizes refined compounds and casings, each purpose-built for their intended environments.
Goodyear bicycle tires are made with many different compounds for different types of terrains. Their road tires, mountain bike tires, gravel, and commuter tires all come in options for tubeless compatibility so you can drop the tubes, add a valve, tape, and sealant for better traction, a smoother ride, and fewer flats. The compounds used in their tires are vast and diverse. Specific compounds include faster-rolling compounds, compounds for low rolling resistance while maintaining a high level of grip to minimize power transfer loss, and compounds like the Dynamic:R/T compound that is specifically formulated to balance grip, wear, and efficiency.
Goodyear mountain bike tires are made with a wide variety of casings. Casings such as the Premium construction combine exceptional ride quality with outstanding durability. The Ultimate construction is lightweight and uses less rubber. This makes it perfect for faster rolling with improved traction, all while remaining supple. EN construction provides additional sidewall support while maintaining a supple feel. The DH construction increases the sidewall toughness by 100%. Whatever type of protection you need while riding, chances are there is a Goodyear MTB tire for you.
Flats suck and can end a fun ride quickly. Their tires come with several protection options to help reduce puncture flats and sidewall tears. Protection like "Armor" that provides a bead-to-bead cut and puncture protection so you can ride with confidence. "Shield" offers a layer of puncture protection located under the tire's tread cap. "Wall" gives the tire extra sidewall protection so you can avoid sidewall tears on your trail tires. Lastly, "Shell" provides the tire with an aramid-infused sub-tread for commuting on those rough streets.
So whether you're looking for a gravel tire with a fast-rolling tread pattern, a mountain tire with a grippy tread design, an Eagle All-Season road tire, or a hardcore tire with an Ultimate casing and Dynamic:RS/T compound, then you'll find everything you desire with Goodyear Bike Tires. They have tons of casing options for whatever type of terrain you want to ride on. If you have any questions about the tires from Goodyear, then talk to one of our expert Gear Advisors.
